How to Create and Delete the Guest Account in Windows 7

A lot of people need a computer to save their files and get their work done. But what if multiple persons are using the same computer? The files and folders may get mixed with a lot of users. But Windows 7 comes with a facility to create and delete multiple accounts which can be called as Guest accounts in a single OS.

Follow the steps to create or delete a guest account

  •    Click Start and open Control Panel
  •    Go to User Accounts and Family Safety
  •    In Use Accounts and Family Safety, click User Accounts to see the account settings
  •    Open Manage Account
  •    If the User account prompts you, then click Yes
  •    Click Guest
  •    Click Create a new account
  •    Give a name to the User account and select the Standard user
  •    Next window will ask for your confirmation to turn on the guest account
  •    Click Turn on
  •    In the guest account, those who do not have an account in your computer can access but are restricted accessing the password protected folders
If you wish to switch over the accounts, then open the Start menu and click the arrow button placed on right side of Shut Down. From the menu click Switch users and it takes you to the login window where you can find the all the accounts. Select an account and click to log in.
As the need is fulfilled for the Guest account, you can delete it. In case you are having trouble in deleting the account, follow these steps
  •    Follow the first three steps mentioned above
  •    In the User accounts section, click Add or remove user accounts
  •    The list of all the active accounts will appear
  •    Select the account you want to delete
  •    Now click Delete the account
  •    The windows will ask if you wish to keep the file or not in your Administrative account
  •    If you’re going to keep files in your admin account, then click Keep Files or else click Delete Files
  •    Delete Files will remove the account along with its data and other files
  •    The account is deleted now
