Norton Antivirus Scan
Norton Antivirus Scan is efficient software which covers up less free space than any of the common programs in the section Security software. It’s hugely used in the countries like Australia, India, and Indonesia.
False Positive
Norton Security might continuously make you aware of that a specific folder or file has a virus. Even though you know, it doesn’t have a virus. This is called a false positive, and it can be completely exasperating and annoying. Luckily, the program can be taught to overlook that folder or file throughout the scans.
One of most high-quality anti-virus programs, the Norton Antivirus software allows you to remove files and folders from being scanned. You instruct the software not to interrupt that file or folder, which blocks it from the program’s vision and secures your files and folders. It will not let you know whether there’s a virus or not.
This feature is obviously excellent because in case if Norton keeps, again and again, notifying you that a file or folder is a virus when you certainly know it is not.
On the other hand, stopping the folders like “Download folder” (that keeps typically collecting new files) from being scanned is stupidity.
Steps to stop Files and Folders from being scanned:
- Go to the Norton Ant-virus software and open it.
- Open the Settings.
- Then select the Anti-virus option.
- Choose the Scans and Risks tab.
- Find the section Low Risks/Exclusion.
- Tap on + (Configure)
Note: There are two options here: One is there for exclusions to anti-virus scans. And another one is there for the exclusions to the real-time security features of the Norton software.
- Now you need to use the Add Folders and Add the Files buttons to set the folder or file according to your need. And create some new exclusion rules.
- And here you go, just tap “OK” to save the changes you have made.
Note: At this point, you can exit any of the open windows and also close them down or minimize the Norton software if you want.
Warning: please make sure entirely before excluding any files and folder that they are infected because the items you will eliminate are not going to be seen by Norton Antivirus software and may not be protected by a computer program, too. Anything that is ignored by Norton Antivirus software can cause viruses, and Antivirus application may not be able to know about them because they have been excluded from being scanned.
We hope this blog will help you to gain more knowledge about Anti-Viruses and some of their significant advantages and disadvantages.
