How to use Stocks app of your Mac

Among the release of Apple’s new macOS Mojave, for the first time, Apple also brought four apps to Mac: Apple news, Home, Voice Memos and Stocks. One of these four apps is Stocks app, Apple has rebuilt it, and it has a beautiful new design. The Stocks app allows you to check the stock prices, financial market, learn more about your favorite companies, and the changes at a glance.
In the Stocks app of your Mac, you can search for the stocks you are invested or interested, check out updates in real time, plus business news.
Here’s how to do these all things in Stocks of your Mac.

How to add stocks to your Watchlist

  1. Launch ‘Stocks app’ from the Finder.
  2. Click on the ‘Search bar.’
  3. Type in the ‘name of a company’ or ‘stock.’
  4. Click on the ‘Stock’ you want to add.
  5. Now, click the ‘Green color add (+) button.’
The stock will be added into your Watchlist. Now, you can open Stocks app and instantly view all of the shares that are important to you in your watch list.

How to view stock trends in Stocks app

In Stocks app, you can see trends from the last day to the entire history.
  1. Launch ‘Stocks app’ from the Finder.
  2. Select a ‘Stock’ from your Watchlist or ‘Find a Stock.’
  3. Click a ‘Time Period’ above the line of the graph.
  4. You can choose, one day, one week, one month, one year to 10 years and all for stock’s entire lifespan.

How to watch the Business news in the Stocks app of your Mac

In the Stocks app, the user can check out all the latest on the stocks in the Business news.
  1. Launch ‘Stocks app’ from the Finder.
  2. Click on the ‘Business News.’ This is the first tab on the left side of your screen.
  3. Click a ‘story’ to read more. From the right side Window of your Mac’s screen.

To view price changes and company worth:

  1. Open ‘Stocks app’ from the Finder.
  2. Click the ‘List button’ from the bottom of your Watchlist to open your watch list.
  3. Click the ‘Green or Red value’ next to the stock name.
Here, you can see the company’s worth, price-per-share, and percentage increase or decrease.

How to rearrange stocks in your Watchlist

 If, you want to see your most important stocks at the top of your Watchlist then follow the steps to rearrange them.
  1. Launch ‘Stocks app’ from the Finder.
  2. Click the ‘List button’ from the bottom of your Watchlist.
  3. Press and hold the ‘Reorder button’ or ‘three horizontal line’ icon next to the stock you want to move.
  4. Now, ‘Drag’ the Stock up or down, where you’d like to fix it and ‘Release.’
  5. Click ‘Done’ to save.

How to remove any stock from your Watchlist

  1. Open ‘Stocks app.’
  2. Open your ‘Watchlist’.
  3. Click the ‘Remove button’ (red circle with a white line in it) of the stock you want to remove; the button is next to the stock name.
  4. Click ‘Remove.’
